Pores refer to the small openings or indentations on the surface of the skin. They are connected to the hair follicle and excrete substances such as sweat and oil.

Pores are particularly more prominent on the nose cheeks, and forehead where the sebaceous glands are larger. Ageing, increased sebum production, decreased skin elasticity and sun exposure all exasperate the appearance of pores.

When excess sebum production occurs, this can cause pores to become congested with oil, dead skin cells and dirt. It is important to address this before an acne breakout occurs.

A range of treatments can be used to help visibly minimise the appearance of enlarged pores and prevent acne breakouts. The following devices should be used in tandem with a good skincare range, sun protection and skin peels.
