Meet The Technology

Sound familiar?

Microneedling is one of the most requested skin treatments in Australian clinics, and your clients already know what it is. The challenge isn't demand, it's finding a device that gives you clinical-grade control, keeps your clients comfortable, and doesn't slow down your treatment room with fiddly setup or cord management. You need skin needling technology that works the way you do: quickly, precisely, and results-focused.

What does it do?

The KausmediPen Cordless is a professional microneedling device with 12 surgical-grade stainless steel needles (30 gauge) and precision depth control adjustable from 0 to 2mm in 0.1mm increments. It operates across 7 variable speed settings between 4,800 and 8,000 RPM, creating up to 1,560 microchannels per second.

The cordless design runs on dual rechargeable batteries, so you can move between treatment rooms without interruption. A patented silicone membrane inside the cartridge prevents backflow and maintains device hygiene, while a side vent allows smooth needle gliding with minimal skin trauma.

The device is ARTG listed (Handpiece: ARTG ID 362550, Needle Cartridge: ARTG ID 337010) as a Class IIa medical device for safe, compliant use in professional aesthetic settings.

In The Treatment Room

Microneedling is a workhorse treatment for skin clinics. Results build over a course of three or more sessions, which makes it one of the strongest treatments you can offer for securing treatment packages and locking in return bookings.

Fine lines and skin rejuvenation: The most common entry point for microneedling clients. Results build across a treatment course, creating strong rebooking patterns from the first consultation.

Acne scarring: A high-demand treatment that clients will seek out specifically. Adjustable needle depth lets you treat rolling, boxcar, and shallow ice-pick scars with precision across different zones of the face in the same session.

Pigmentation and uneven skin tone: Microchannels at controlled depths drive pigment-targeting serums deeper than topical application alone, giving your vitamin C, niacinamide, or tyrosinase inhibitors a better chance of interrupting melanin production where it matters.

Skin texture and pore refinement: A versatile treatment that appeals to clients who aren’t ready for more aggressive interventions but want visible improvement.

Stretch marks and body treatments: The cordless design makes body work practical, not awkward. No cord dragging across the treatment area, and you can treat in any position without being tethered to a power outlet.

Speed settings for different clients and clinicians: Lower speeds suit sensitive skin, first-time clients, and less experienced therapists. Higher speeds reduce treatment time on thicker or scarred skin and suit quick-handed clinicians. You adjust the device to the client, not the other way around.

Frequently asked questions

Fine lines, wrinkles, acne scarring, enlarged pores, uneven skin tone, pigmentation, stretch marks, and general skin texture. The adjustable depth (0 to 2mm in 0.1mm increments) and 7 speed settings let you customise every treatment to the client’s skin type and concern.

Yes. Both the handpiece (ARTG ID 362550) and the needle cartridge (ARTG ID 337010) are listed on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods as Class IIa medical devices.

The device runs on dual rechargeable batteries (300 mAh and 700 mAh). You can swap batteries between clients, so you’re never waiting for a charge. It also means you can move the device between treatment rooms without setup time, which helps if you’re running a busy day sheet.

Each cartridge contains 12 x 30 gauge surgical-grade stainless steel needles, sterilised with EO gas. A patented silicone membrane prevents fluid backflow into the handpiece, and a side vent releases vacuum pressure for smoother gliding and less trauma to the skin. Cartridges are single-use and available through the Laseraid online store.

Yes. Microneedling pairs well with LED therapy (such as the OptiGlow LED), topical serums, and can sit within a broader treatment plan alongside RF microneedling or laser treatments. Your clinical trainer can help you build combination protocols that increase the value of each client visit.

Yes. The lower speed settings (from 4,800 RPM) and fine depth adjustments make it forgiving for therapists who are still building their hand speed and confidence. The ergonomic aluminium alloy body and clear digital display also help with extended use during longer treatment days.

The KausmediPen includes a pressure and motion detection mechanism that prevents the needles from firing unless the device is in contact with the skin and moving. Combined with the anti-backflow silicone membrane and EO gas sterilised cartridges, it’s designed to minimise risk for both the therapist and the client.
