The GentleLase Pro uses a single Alexandrite wavelength (755nm).
The 755nm wavelength is the most efficient for targeting melanin in the hair follicle on lighter skin types, delivering fast treatment times with strong clearance rates.

The GentleLase Pro is a single-wavelength Alexandrite system optimised for speed and efficiency on lighter skin types (Fitzpatrick I-III). If your client base is predominantly lighter-skinned and hair removal is your primary service, the GentleLase Pro delivers faster treatment times and strong clearance rates without paying for a second wavelength you won’t use as often. If you need to treat darker skin types as well, the GentleMax Pro is the better choice.
The Alexandrite wavelength (755nm) is more efficiently absorbed by melanin in the hair follicle, which makes it faster and more effective for hair removal on lighter skin types. The Nd:YAG wavelength (1064nm) penetrates more deeply and bypasses epidermal melanin, making it safer for darker skin types. Each wavelength has a specific strength; the question is which one matches your client base.
You can’t add a second wavelength to the GentleLase Pro itself, but you can add a GentleYag Pro to your treatment room, or upgrade to the GentleMax Pro, which includes both wavelengths. Your account manager can help you work through the options based on your plan and growth trajectory.
