The GentleMax Pro laser hair removal system is a powerful new machine that allows dermatologists to treat any client. The technician can quickly adjust settings via a touch screen to suit the client’s skin tone, hair colour and hair-growth density.
Described by Canadian dermatologist Dr Dan Radin as the “Rolls Royce” of laser systems, the GentleMax Pro can be used to treat veins, age spots, and freckles, in addition to hair regrowth.
The machine also has a large 18 mm spot-sized circle, so treatment sessions are generally shorter than those with other machines.
Laser hair removal systems work by sending laser pulses to the regrowth area. Radin’s client, Rod Mazza, described the sensation as a “micro-pinch”, with little pain and excellent results.
Radin expressed surprise at how many men have opted for laser treatment, especially for areas such as their cheeks and ears.
With the warmer season on approach, Radin is seeing more women clients who want treatment for their armpit area before hitting the beach in summer.
Most people have around four to eight sessions, though sometimes just two sessions can be sufficient to stop regrowth.
